Le film

Alors qu'il s'apprête à participer au tournoi du siècle, Maverick, professionnel du poker, se retrouve sans le sou, menacé de mort par un mauvais perdant nommé Angel et en butte aux provocations d'une jeune et belle joueuse, Anabelle Blansford, qui multiplie les aguicheries tout en se dérobant obstinément à ses avances.
