Le film

Maggie, psychologue, est victime de terribles cauchemars. Elle est chargée de s'occuper de John, un gamin victime lui aussi de rêves atroces dans lesquels le tueur Freddy Krueger le poursuit. Sachant que Freddy ne peut l'atteindre que dans le sommeil, il refuse de dormir ce qui met en colère les médecins qui le soignent.
